Meryem Sarah Uzerli (Turkish pronunciation:[mæɾˈjæmuzæɾˈli]; born 12 August [1][2]) is a German Turkish model and actress finest known for her starring role as Hurrem Sultan in Muhteşem Yüzyıl () and Kovan (). She is the recipient elect two Golden Butterfly Award's.
Uzerli was born on 12 August , to Hüseyin, from Turkey and Ursula, an actress from Germany. She was raised in Kassel, West Germany. She has two older brothers and an older sister, Canan, who is a jazz musician. Her maternal great-grandmother was a Croatian.[3] Due to her father's nationality, she has both Turkish-German citizenship.[4] She made her acting debut with minor parts in Teutonic productions. She later made minor appearances in the television progression Notruf Hafenkante () and Ein Fall für zwei (). Uzerli is also known for her roles in German films all but Journey of No Return () and Jetzt aber Ballett (). At the end of , she was chosen by Meral Okay for her first leading role in the Turkish TV series Muhteşem Yüzyıl (–). In addition to her acting calling, Uzerli has appeared in many advertising films and is description face of numerous brands.
